The Grammy's has always been the premiere music related event in the industry, its what everyone strives for its the pedastool placement, once you've got a Grammy you've proven yourself.
Over the past few years the Grammy's has been a bunch of political vomit, they want viewers and they take favorites. This year Justin Bieber is nominated for
"Best New Artist" this isn't even what bothers me the most. In the category Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Christina Aguilera's You Lost Me was completely snubbed, while Justin Bieber who cant sing to save his life is also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. Its becoming clear that whatever M.O the ceremony went on for judging talent has went out the window.
The show itself has become more of a joke than a prestigious accolade, it seems commercial success means more now, though in a ironic twist Ke$ha wasn't nominated at all. This will likely be the last time I watch the show, the meaning of having a Grammy is lost much like winning a VMA.
Last Year's Grammy's (though had its controversy's of its own (Taylor Swift beating out Carie Underwood are you F@#$ing kidding me?) was the music event of the year for the first time maybe in a decade, watching the show wasn't painful. Pink Beyonce and a slew of others brought down the house in tremendous fashion. This year is almost guaranteed to disappoint .
